The window of our soul

A newly wed couple moved to a very quiet district. On the first morning in their new home, while drinking her coffee, the woman looking on the window noticed a woman who was stretching her laundry in the balcony to dry.

What dirty bed sheets our neighbour is stretching on her balcony! I think she needs a better washing powder or maybe I should teach her myself how to wash properly the bed sheets!

Her husband watched and remained silent. This scene repeated every time the neighbour took her laundry out to dry, every week.

After some time the woman was surprised to see one day that her neighbour was stretching much cleaner bed sheets and she said to her husband:

”Look, darling, this woman has finally learnt how to wash her laundry!” ”Could it be possible to have learnt it from someone else?”

Her husband answered:

”No, dear, today I woke up earlier and washed the windows of our house.”

In our life things are the same way too. Everything depends on how clean is the window of our soul, through which we see the facts. Before criticising, we should first check the facts and cleanse our soul for being able to see things clearly. Then we could notice the purity of the others. There’s no doubt that today I see you better than yesterday!

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22)
