The priest is the drum and you are the violin

Priest Visarion Alexa

A father, a teacher, a doctor, a priest has overcome the limits of his own existence and psychical resistance, so that you may live well.

My elder told me once to take care so that nobody may take me over and now I am telling you the same thing.

Who makes you his slave will take all your energy, all your force, all your dedication.

Our love must be like His, noble!

Do not become the slaves of the men`s whims, only try to love with nobleness as God loved.

Did you see that if you turn your back on Him at twenty He has patience and waits for you until you reach sixty?

As a beautiful prayer from the service of the Holy Unction says it: `You, God, Who bear without sadness our falls…`

Do you realize at what kind of loving we are called by God?

There is no greater joy than to do anything for someone to take him out of roving and sadness.

There is no greater joy than to be aware that your presence in the life of a man helped him remain powerful.

That from a leaf beaten by wind he turned into an oak with strong roots because you put your soul for him.

You sacrificed all your needs and wishes for his without feeling pain, only joy coming from Him.

Why do you go to the church? What hidden wishes bring you here? With what thoughts do you come?

Make it possible to go to the church called only by His way of living on earth, by His way of loving the world.

Stop your wickedness, envy, pride, jealousies, stupid selfishness.

Somewhere once someone suffered struggling for you.

A father, a teacher, a doctor, a priest has overcome the limits of his own existence and psychical resistence, so that you may live well.

Someone has taken out of his own flesh and invested in you to live.

The man who doesn`t take anything from himself, who doesn`t sacrifice his life for someone else (career, psychic, everything he has) will be anxious and depressive.

He is in love with himself, he dies of pity for his own sake, he is the man bitten by the demon.

He is not far, what`s needed is to look at ourselves in the mirror…

A lit candle is too little.

The candle doesn`t pray for yourself, the akathist given to the priest is not enough.

There should be a symphony. A drum which makes a bad sound and a violin which creaks if they harmonize their sounds, something wonderful will come out.

The priest is the drum and you are the violin. If you want to make a symphony let us tune our feelings and prayer and in this way the notes of the divinity will be heard.
