The fathers said about an elder that sitting in his cell and striving for his salvation he saw the devil walking in reality and offended him. The devil seeing himself so many times being ridiculed by this elder appeared to him saying:` I am Christ!`
The elder seeing him closed his eyes.
The devil asked:
`Why do you close your eyes? Look at me for I am Christ.`
The elder answered to him :
`I don`t want to see Christ with my eyes in this world.`
Hearing these the devil vanished.
