Christ’s Incarnation and Crucifixion show the endless love and mercy of God, Who came from heaven on earth to save us, the sinful, the ungrateful. Then it shows us the great valour of our soul, the image of God, which we leave, out of our ignorance or carelessness, devoid of honor and virtue, hurt, while for the body which we’ll leave here, we do so many things and take so much care of it!
Our soul is the one that matters, because due to it our body lives. But we don’t pay any attention to our soul, we don’t offer it pure and true nourishment and that’s why we get spiritually sick cause of the sin and by poisoning our life we deprive ourselves of God’s grace and we encounter a lot of pains, which are the reward of our estrangement of God.
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?Matthew 16, 26
