See, another year passed away

We walk towards eternity. And see that another year passed away. We welcome a new year. What will it bring to us? We don`t know.

We being obtuse, don`t know if we live tomorrow. We always have to expect our leave…

What to wish? Richness, glory, honors, delights and pleasures? All of them are nothingness.

`Vanity of vanities, everything is vanity…`

Only one thing remains. To believe in Christ. There is no other name which can give us joy and hope during this new year; only the name of Jesus Christ.

Excerpt from the homily of metropolitan Augustin of Florina
in  the Holy Church of Saint Panteleimon, Florina,
31.12.1974.
