VISIONARIES

The mediums and people who foretell using tea leaves or coffee grounds state out and loud that they have the “gift” of detecting some persons or the fact that a family was cursed and that they can find out who cursed them. Let’s be serious, isn’t that these people simply ridicule the ordinary people?
The deceased Archimandrite Haralambos Vasilopulos was the confessor of such type of deceivers who repented; he used to ask them:
– Why did you partake to the devil’s work?
– I did it for money, they answered.
– When your clients asked you something, what did you answer to them?
– We simply make a fool of them. Read more

SENSORIAL PEOPLE: THEIR ORIGIN AND NATURE ACCORDING TO THE ORTHODOX CONCEPTION

Lately, many people started to manifest unusual skills: treatments with the energetic field, telepathy and psychokinesis, clairvoyance. All these are part from the contemporary life and therefore a religious interpretation and a clear and convincing attitude over these phenomena are necessary.

Is this thing good or bad? How should an orthodox Christian act when he meets such type of persons and should he draw upon their help? We will try to answer these questions but let’s first try to investigate our tradition and the experience of our Spirit bearers Holy Fathers. Read more

DARKNESS AND LIGHT

Hoping that my drama could be of a use to take someone out of the gutter, I will write in the following some things related to my past, when my life had not yet really started.

My father, the head of a drinking house, being somewhere between an atheist and an indifferent believer and raised fearing his father who beat him for its very first delinquency from his foolish practice, did not find in him the power to stop the perpetuation of his imposing character and deprived me and my brother as much as possible from the debauchery that we had never thought that it was not necessary to experience. WAS THE APPEARANCE OF THE SIGN OF CROSS ON 14TH OF SEPTEMBER 1925 A MIRACLE?

Does God bless the schisms?

The tormented spirits of “old calendarists” separated from the Church’s Body have often in mind the apparition of the Holy Cross on the 14th of September 1925 – old calendar – as a sustaining miracle of accuracy/exactness of the old calendar. The event was published the next day in SKRIP newspaper (15/28.09.1925) and it was described as the following: Read more

THE MYSTICAL ROOTS OF CRIMINALITY (I)

The tragic influence of atheism, materialism and occultism over the contemporary society led to considerably increased number of criminalities and suicides. The educated psychologists and sociologists, being situated on materialistic positions, proved to not be able to explain the nature of this fact. People who are mostly insured from a material point of view coming from families who are apparently wealthy commit – surprisingly for their close ones – awful bloody crimes. What is the cause for these? What are the roots for such an evil? Read more

YOU SO MUCH CALL THE NAME OF THE DEVIL, TILL HE COMES!

The past days reminded me about the proverb from the title when the Romanian society experienced the disaster related to the death and suffer of so many people burned in a club from Bucharest. Such a sadness and grief! I was thinking about the youngsters of nowadays who are influenced by the spirit of some celebrations with an occult content. This is the case of celebrating Halloween in the club from Bucharest. A celebration that has a demonic character through which the participants lose their temper trying to imitate whoever, especially the devil. Read more

30th October 2015, a black day in the history of Romanian nation. Faded souls, ruined lives… Today the number of the deceased from the Colectiv Club from the capital reached 32. PAPAL INFAILLIBILITY

According to the traditional teaching of the Orthodox Church, all people are sinners and lack the glory of God, as Saint Apostle Paul tells us:  since all have sinned and continue to fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3, 23). Even the Theotokos who is so glorified and praised as being more honored than the cherubim and more glorified than the seraphim, comes from the family tree of Adam and Eve and also inherited the ancestral sin. She called her Son My Savior, as the evangelist Luke says (Luke 1, 47): …My spirit exults in God, my Savior. Thus there is no living man on earth who lives a sinless life even for a single day according to the word of our Savior. Read more

COMMERCIALIZING THE VIRTUES

Each deed of man, either good or bad, is the fruit of his freedom and he is the only one responsible for his life. For doing good and especially the spiritual good that has connection with the attainment of virtues in Christ and salvation of our soul, the man has to believe in the Savior and follow His real Church that nowadays is no other but the Orthodox Church. Of course, in our Orthodox Church no one becomes saved only for his deeds or virtues he attains but only in cooperation with the Grace of Christ. Here is what Saint Apostle Paul tells us: What do you have that you did not receive? (I Corinthians 4, 7). Thus he asks us what do we owe that we did not receive from Christ? Regardless of the number of deeds we did, or virtues we attain, in reality they are all gifts from God because – as the same Apostle tells us – our salvation is a gift. Read more
